Freeze Dried Food

Nothing lasts longer or is lighter than Freeze Dried Food when you are out on a backpacking trek.  It is bought in pouches that tuck neatly in your backpack, no matter if you have a daypack or a full size one.  Weight is important when you are carrying provisions for long distances. You are able to carry more Freeze Dried Food than you could fresh, because of the weight and size difference, and the fact that it will not get smashed and leak all over your gear.

Freeze Dried Food comes in different serving sizes, from individual or meal size pouches.  They are available breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. There are a large variety of Freeze Dried Food items offered so that you won’t have to eat the same thing over and over.  Don’t forget the powdered drink mixes to go with them.

While on a backpacking trip in New Mexico, Freeze Dried Food was given to our group as rations on the trails.  Carrying five to six days of meals at one time would have been difficult to do if it was fresh fare.  Not only would it not have survived the heat, it would have been too big and bulky to carry it.

You can look like a gourmet cook if you take the time to plan out and purchase Freeze Dried Food before your next outing.  Serve anything from clam chowder to beef stew.  Add a vegetable or two, a dessert and you have a hardy meal for your group. All it takes is a pot to cook in, water and a stove to heat the Freeze Dried Food on and in less than fifteen minutes you can enjoy the goodness of Freeze Dried Food that tastes like homemade.  Good Freeze Dried Food will make them all excited for their next meal.  A well-feed group will be able to perform better in the outdoors.
