Camp Stoves

 

There are different types of Camp Stoves to choose from depending on what your activity is.  Backpacking, weekend camping or as groups all require a little different style of Camp Stoves.  There is also a difference in fuels.  Propane, butane and liquid fuels are the most common types available.  Click the image to choose the the one that best suits our outdoors needs.

Propane Camp Stoves are one of the most commonly bought type because of the convenience of the fuel.  Whether you use the smaller screw on individual tanks, or the larger ones to hook up multiple Camp Stoves or other attachments, the fuel is readily availability.  It can be found at any sporting goods stores and at convenient type stores.   

Butane Camp Stoves are almost the same as the Propane fuel ones, but burn a little hotter. The fuel bottles can be a little smaller in size and the complete Butane Camp Stove is much lighter.  They are a backpackers best buy when hiking for a long distance, as weight plays a major factor.

White gas Camp Stoves are used by the purist when it comes to camping.  It takes a little more work to keep it lit.  There is some priming involved with this one, and you must keep an eye on it at all times so the flame doesn’t go out.  The fuel for these Camp Stoves can be a little bulky and messy if not handled properly.

Denatured alcohol Camp Stoves are very lightweight and are for the extreme backpacker that carries the bare minimum on treks.  Stoves as light as one ounce are by far the most compact stoves on the market.  Fuel can be carried in a small container the size of a soda can for these stoves.

Multi fuel Camp Stoves give you the flexibility to use different types of fuel in the same Camp Stove.  Propane and butane can be interchanged in the same one.  White gas, auto fuel, kerosene and diesel fuel can be used in others.  These are versatile Camp Stoves that allows you the freedom to choose the most accessible fuel in your area.

Alternative fuel Camp Stoves allow you to use wood for your Camp Stoves.  This lets you travel lighter with just the weight of a Camp Stove.  With no fuel is needed to carry, this is a very lightweight method of cooking.  The down side to this type of Camp Stove is you must find dry fuel in twigs and downed wood along the trail.

No matter what type of outdoor cooking you will be performing, there is a Camp Stove that will fill your needs.  Make sure to decide what fuel will be readily available in your area, and which you will want to work with.  A lot of people purchase more than one type of Camp Stoves and dishes so they can enjoy different outings with the proper equipment.
